Some incomplete testing yesterday as the Department of Health acknowledged that it had an issue with some of the testing, so only 327 tests were completed.  That’s about 10% of what we’re normally doing now, and 7 positive cases were found. The problem has been resolved and they’ll correct all that with today’s report. Unfortunately, another death was reported.  78 people who have tested positive have now died, 67 of which died as a direct result of the complications.

The number of active cases dropped considerably yesterday, down to 234, which is the lowest number since April 16th.   However, with the corrections today, that number will probably rise again, so don’t be alarmed if we see that.  They need to catch up on testing after yesterday’s problems. Ramsey county still has only one active case currently. Neighboring Cavalier county found one more case yesterday, and they now have 3.

Our risk level in North Dakota is “low”; we’re doing far better than most states. However, we’re still not out of the woods - so to speak.   You’re still urged to use caution, wash your hands often, use hand sanitizer, try not to touch your face when you’re out, and keep  your distance from others. Masks aren’t required, but you’re encouraged to wear one when you’re out in public.

A new report comes out at around 11am each day, and Governor Burgum will address the state each Tuesday at around 3:30, and we’ll carry that live on KZZY-103.5 FM.

Many businesses, including bars and restaurants are now open, with some special restrictions in place (they can have up to 75% of their capacity right now) - most of which are still doing take out menus and curbside service, too.
