Winter returned with force Thursday morning in Devils Lake and a meteorologist with the National Weather Service says residents could be measuring snow in feet rather than inches by the time the storm ends sometime on Saturday.  Nick Carletta says the snow totals could be historic if the storm continues as expected over the next couple days.  Carletta says the weather system causing the snow is expected to park over the region causing the impressive snowfall totals.  City crews in Devils Lake will be clearing snow around the clock focused on the emergency and priority routes in the city.  Public Works Director Mike Grafsgaard says snow removal in residential areas won't be a priority until snowfall rates decrease.
