The newest member of the Devils Lake School Board took her seat Monday as the student representative on the board. 12th grader Angela Chen will serve on the board for the remainder of the school year. She was selected by the student body to represent them on issues of interest to students that come before the board. Superintendent Ned Clooten says Devils Lake is one of only a couple districts in the state that has a student representative serving on their school board. He says having a student voice on the board will give the other board members a student perspective on various issues. Chen will serve in an advisory role only and can not vote on matters that come before the board.
